ATLANTA - Washingtoner -- On November 20th the Global Trans Equity Project (GTEP), in partnership with over 19 national organizations, hosted a powerful and heartfelt observance of Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR).
This year's efforts spanned the country, from California, to Delaware, with significant moments in Athens and Atlanta, Georgia and culminating in a virtual remembrance and reflection.
This collaborative initiative brought together community members, allies, and leaders to honor the lives of those we have lost, remember their contributions, and celebrate the resilience of the transgender community. The events highlighted the diversity of trans voices and reinforced the urgent need to advocate for trans rights and equity in all areas of society.
The gatherings featured moving tributes, altars of remembrance, and shared moments of reflection and solidarity. The vibrancy of these events reflected the theme of honoring life while holding space for grief and renewal.
