GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Washingtoner -- GAITHERSBURG, MD – Patton (https://www.patton.com), a global leader in cyber security for communication networks, is pleased to announce the launch of its innovative Data Diode Controller Software, a powerful cybersecurity solution designed to proxy secure file transfer, data extraction and log export over air-gapped uni-directional Data Diode segments.
This software optimizes cross domain operational-efficiency while ensuring that sensitive systems remain isolated from potential cyber threats. Used together with physical layer Data Diodes, the software secures, unidirectional data transfers while enabling Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), Network File System (NFS), Server Message Block (SMB), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA), and other protocols to be emulated over uni-directional links. The controller software is fully customizable to support unique or proprietary uses cases.
Patton Data Diode Controller software offers administrators powerful control over data flows between mission-critical networks. The software's functionality makes it ideal for defense, intelligence, energy, and other critical network infrastructures where robust cybersecurity measures are paramount.

Key Features of the FPSW-DDC Data Diode Controller Software:
- Secure One-Way Data Transfers: The FPSW-DDC software is used with Patton's SFX Data Diode SFP Module and other physical layer Data Diodes to secure, unidirectional data flow, ensuring that data can be transferred from a high-security internal network to a less secure external network while preventing any incoming connections that might compromise network integrity.
- Proxy Protocol Control: Layer 2 Data Diodes require unidirectional network protocols such as UDP. To support other protocols, Patton's Diode Controller delivers "proxy services" to support encrypted transport of these protocols over the uni-directional links, while maintaining full network isolation.
- Isolated Source and Destination Proxy Instances: The Controller Software runs on standard or virtualized Servers connected to the Source Network (Upstream) and the Destination Network (Downstream). The Upstream Server encodes bidirectional protocols over unidirectional links for transport across the Data Diode. The Downstream Server receives and decodes the unidirectional data into its original format and protocol.
- Real-Time Monitoring and Logging: Enables the automation of unidirectional data flows for data extraction and log export providing the ability monitor critical logging data across security domains in real-time.
- Customizable and User-Friendly: The intuitive user interface provides administrators with visibility into network traffic, empowering them to easily configure and monitor secure data transfers
Who Cares? Cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, organizations must ensure their internal networks are fully protected from external threats. Data Diodes offer the highest level of security by utilizing secure, one-way data transfer capabilities blocking all remote access to the secured network.
