ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 12, 2024 ~ National PTA is gearing up for its annual Back-to-School Week, a week dedicated to helping students, families, teachers, administrators, and PTA leaders have a successful start to the new school year. The organization will be sharing valuable information and resources on social media using the hashtag #PTABackToSchool and on their website PTA.org/BackToSchool. This initiative is made possible with the support of Box Tops for Education.
According to Yvonne Johnson, president of National PTA, a new school year brings new opportunities for growth and learning. As part of Back-to-School Week, the organization has curated a variety of fresh ideas, tools, resources, and program opportunities to foster strong partnerships between families and schools. These resources will be available throughout the year to support students, families, teachers, administrators, and PTA leaders.

In addition to providing resources for families and schools, National PTA is also offering over $1 million in funding to help PTAs host programs in areas such as digital safety, STEM education, healthy lifestyles, and the arts. The application period is now open and PTAs can apply until Tuesday, October 1st at 11:59 p.m. PDT through PTA.org/Grants.
TikTok Shop is also joining in on the Back-to-School festivities by supporting educators, students, and schools. The company has donated $100K to help purchase classroom supplies for select schools in Seattle and one school in the Washington D.C. area. They have also provided back-to-school kits for teachers and faculty in Seattle.
Nathan R. Monell CAE., Executive Director of National PTA expressed gratitude towards TikTok Shop, Box Tops for Education and all other sponsors for their support in ensuring that students, families educators and schools have what they need to thrive. He added that through initiatives like Back-to-School Week along with advocacy efforts and other programs throughout the year, National PTA remains committed to bringing families, schools, and communities together and providing them with the necessary resources for success.
